The first head-up display for bicycle helmets
The USEE®, developed by MOMES GmbH is a head-up display for cyclists. The smart device will initially be exclusively available for owners of the ABUS GameChanger, Aventor and Viantor racehelmets, which have a suitable mounting option to install the helmet head-up display. With eyes-on-the-road benefits, USEE® enables intelligent monitoring of all relevant performance parameters or safe navigation in cycling, so the view remains on the road and hands on the handlebars.
With a weight of 20 grams the product is comfortable to wear and it is interesting especially for cyclists, who otherwise dispense with any unnecessary gram. The LCD display allows excellent readability of the displayed information in any weather conditions and thanks to the UV collector, it automatically adjusts to the light conditions of the surroundings. The extremely high load capacity and the 100% waterproof case, combined with an accumulation time of up to 400 hours, make the USEE® a perfect extension for all cycling enthusiasts who pay attention to the performance as well as to the safety.
Head-up Display USEE® wins the ISPO Award
As part of the annual ISPO Award, the USEE® head-up display won the Gold Winner Award in the category Outdoor - Tools & Equipment.
The head-up display USEE® has various functions and options. In stand-alone mode, different kinds of data from the connected ANT + sensors can be transmitted and displayed. In connection with Smartphone, USEE® can be used as a second display and can map the data of the in-house Sportapp o-synce mobile *. The smartphone remains protected in the bag and its battery life is thereby extended automatically. In addition, USEE® builds a bridge from A to B, that is, it translates the ANT + sensor data to any smartphone or sports watch that supports Bluetooth® Smart.
USEE® is also compatible with electronic shifting systems, e.g. Shimano Di2, SRAM eTAP, Campagnolo Super Record EPS, FSA K-Force WE. Here it can display the current gear as well as the battery status of the shifting systems.
Display and operation of USEE
The display of the USEE consists of two sections. In the left area, the current speed is displayed, the information in the right area can be selected. You can switch between the various modes flexible, by pressing a button on the side of USEE. You can also purchase an optional Multiremote, which works as a remote control for the USEE.
The position of the display can be adjusted flexibly thanks to the adaptable angle.
Navigation with USEE®
In connection with the Naviki app*, USEE® becomes a real navigation device.
The navigation app Naviki offers worldwide route planning and navigation for different purposes and bikes. USEE makes it possible to find an optimal solution for those who do not want their beloved and often expensive smartphone on the bicycle handlebar. USEE® connects to the phone via Bluetooth® Smart and displays the navigation hints. The smartphone can be safely stored in the bag or backpack. The valuable mobile phone remains undamaged and its battery life is extended to up to 13 hours. In addition, the USEE offers excellent readability in all weather conditions unlike the smartphone screen.
*The Naviki app is free. The turn-off instructions from Naviki cost a single € 3.79 for Android, € 3.99 for IOS. Offline cards are available from 4,79 €.
Using USEE® with E-bikes
USEE can be used as an optional display for e-bikes with the ANT + LEV profile, such as the Turbo LEVO series used by Specialized. USEE® shows the current support level as well as the battery level of the e-bike.
If necessary, both the current heart rate and the power can be displayed simultaneously. This happens as soon as the USEE® is connected to a heart rate monitor as well as to a power meter at the same time. Thus, the two important information remains in view, which is an important feature especially for ambitious performance cyclists.
Using USEE® in the darkness
Biking with USEE® is also great fun at night. Four LEDs provide the illumination of the display in the dark, so all the important data will stay visible.
Using USEE® with elecronical shifting systems
USEE® is compatible with electronic shifting systems, e.g. Shimano Di2, SRAM eTAP, Campagnolo Super Record EPS, FSA K-Force WE. It helps you to keep in eye the current gear as well as the battery status of the shifting system. At the same time, your bike won't get any gramm heavier and your handlebars won't get overloaded with any bike computers.
In addition to the USEE head-up display, the package includes two adapters, one each for the ABUS helmets Aventor & Viantor and for the ABUS helmet GameChanger. Furthermore, there are stickers in the packaging for attachment to the helmet, a battery and a practical case.
